In this position he was responsible for sales in all states west of Chicago.

By 2003 Joe was promoted to National Director of Sales and was responsible for all sales at a national level for retail, contract and key accounts. He was responsible for National Builders like Centex Homes, Key Accounts like Pacific Sales and Independent Retailers like AFO in Denver. In 2006 when Whirlpool acquired Maytag, Joe spent much of his time involved in the integration of the Maytag business and culture into the Whirlpool Corporation. At the time this was one of the largest corporate acquisitions in United States history. Joe managed the hiring and firing of all the incoming and outgoing staff, setting up the new organization and managing the sales team. At this time Joe took on responsibility for large national accounts including Sears, Lowes, Home Depot and Best Buy.

During his years at Whirlpool, Joe spent a great deal of his time on initiatives like Leadership, Culture, Customer Service and Healthy Teams. He also did economic projections for his teams that became known in the organization as Higgonomics. The knowledge and insight he brings to all these subjects comes from his years of running a National Sales Team that is known in the industry as one of the finest in the world. Joe retired in 2012 from Whirlpool Corporation with 35 years of experience. Today he is a highly regarded Public Speaker, an experienced Business Consultant and a former executive who can bring out the best in your team and your company.
